Hack of the Day: 5 Things I Wish I Knew About Breastfeeding with my First Baby
Hudson was born during the height of Covid when there were no in person hospital visits, or birthing classes. My husband wasn’t even allowed to come to my doctors appointments. This left me anxious in preparation for labor and delivery, as well as breastfeeding.
5 Things I Wish I Knew About Breastfeeding with my First Baby
If you’ve followed my blog at all you know breastfeeding was way more challenging than I expected it to be. With my second I didn’t make these 5 mistakes that I made with Hudson.
- Get yourself a mini 6-can fridge for your nightstand so that you never have to leave your bed for night feeds.
- Ditch the flanges for freemie cups that sit inside any bra. Pop your big pump base into a backpack to make it “hands-free”
- Spend the money on a good hands free pump. Check out my recent Elvie vs Willow post to learn more about why I love the Willow.
- Buy extra sets of parts to consolidate on dishes. I use a big bowl with antibac soap or this Medela quick clean soap to soak my parts and wash once a day.
- Boobs leak. Catch your liquid gold on the opposite side while baby nurses. Screw the Haakaa once your baby starts to become more mobile and get yourself a catcher (see my post here comparing catcher options).
I think I could make 100s of these types of lists? What else is helpful for you?
