Best Nursing and Pumping Bras: Bras, bras, more bras

One of the main reasons I created this blog was after searching for the best nursing and pumping bra combo and not finding a great set of comparisons against the different options. So let me save you some $$ and give you the deets.

If you are going to pump, just do yourself a favor and BUY FREEMIE CUPS – it’s a game changer. No longer do you have to wear a special bra, you can wear them with any shirt, and it’s discreet, comfortable, and the tubes and flanges are hidden so your baby doesn’t pull on them. After purchasing my freemie cups I never wore my spectra flanges again.

BRAPROSCONS
Momcozy Nursing Bra– Seamless
– Works great with the Willow 3.0 (stays in place)
– Unbelievably comfortable
– Padded
– Cups aren’t sewn in
– Pricier option, but worth the price in my personal opinion.
Target Auden Bra– Sewn in pads are a dream so that they don’t get (1) messed up in the wash and (2) folded when nursing
– Just do yourself a favor and buy them in every color
– This bra might not be great if you are super busty but a small band as I found the cups were small when the band was sufficiently tight (32 DD)
Soma Enbliss Nursing– You feel like yourself again with a REAL bra!
– Perfect under t-shirts
– Difficult to fold down enough to easily get out of the way for nursing
Kindred Bravely Sublime Support Low Impact Nursing & Maternity Sports Bra– Padding gives you nice shape but this might actually be a con for larger breasted women– Looser / stretches out throughout the day so I don’t feel as supported, especially when pumping
HOFISH– Push up and lower cut
Lataly– My favorite, immediately post-partum as they are super stretchy, and extendable– Didn’t love material long term under certain tshirts as they became more worn
Kindred Bravely French Terry Racerback Nursing Sleep Bra– Super comfortable to sleep in– Wouldn’t wear in public as it has no pads and doesn’t give you a shape

PUMPING + NURSING BRAS

If you want to go old school and use traditional flanges, here’s my take on the pumping bras, ordered from most favorite to least:

BRAPROSCONS
Seamless Pump&Nurse Nursing Bra with Built in Hands-Free Pumping Bra– Super comfortable
– All-in-one
– Padded
– Easy adjust straps
– Not the most discreet when you are getting the flanges on
– Pads get folded after pumping
Bravado Clip and Pump Strapless Pumping Accessory– Easy to use and can convert any bra into a hands free pumping bra
– Kept flanges at a good angle and tight
– The band stretched out over time
– Another bra to remember to bring with you / put on
Simple Wishes Hands-Free Breast Pump Bra– The best in terms of extensibility with the create a band size and adjustable (and optional) straps– I sometimes found it hard to get the flanges positioned while wearing it and having it tight enough
Pump&Nurse Seamless Nursing Cami and Hands Free Pumping Bra– My go-to for travel!
– Easy to both pump and nurse and can do both at once
– Not the most discreet when you are getting the flanges on
– Pads get folded after pumping
Momcozy Hands Free Pumping Bra– Comfortable and the easiest all-in one for a single bra to pump in– The ridges weren’t super comfortable and while they gave you pads they were free floating so they didn’t stay in place
Kindred Bravely Sublime Hands Free Pumping Bra– Comes with extenders – great for early postpartum when you are carrying extra weight.
– Good padding
– Expensive
– The pumping part didn’t always hold the flanges at the right angle
– YOUR NIPPLE POPS THRU THE PUMPING HOLE – so freaking uncomfortable
Lupantte Hands Free Pumping Bra– Didn’t work for me with Spectra flanges
