5 Tips for Easy Diaper Changes on the Go
Diaper changes on the go don’t have to be stressful. While you don’t have the full setup ready to go like at home, here are a few tips to make it quick and easy.
You can check out more details on what we keep in our diaper back in this Hack of the Day: What to put in your Diaper Bag
1. Get a dog poop bag holder to attach to the outside of your diaper bag for quick diaper garbage. We love the Amazon Basics one. Easy to change and easy on the wallet.
2. Use dog potty pads as a makeshift changing pad. We’ve found that while re-usable ones are cost effective, there are times when using a dog potty pad has its advantages. You can easily toss them in the garbage, and they provide maximum coverage to make sure your little one doesn’t touch anything, especially on airplanes or drop down diaper changing shelves (who knows what happened there before…). We love the Amazon Basics ones again, or when Costco is running a sale!
3. Get a re-usable wipe container. These are awesome to use with the Huggies Refill bags and avoids the never-ending problem of having a bunch of partial wipe packets. We use Amazon’s subscribe and save to save 15% on our Huggies wipes and have them auto-shipped to our house.
4. Keep a travel size Aquaphor in a side pocket. We love to use Aquaphor in place of diaper cream and put it on after every change for newborns. Forms a barrier against their skin so that they don’t get irritated and reduces how much sticks to their skin.
5. Keychains or toys for a distraction to reduce wiggles and whines. We usually use our car keys or a bracelet, but these work great too. The more noise the better.
